Fix an item that has the wrong unit of measure (UOM)

What to do when an item was created with the wrong order unit, and how to change the counting unit

Each market list item has an order unit (UOM), for example carton or kg, and an inventory UOM used when you count stock. Here is how to fix each one yourself.

Before you start

  • Who: a user whose role can manage market lists.

  • Device: Nomni Procure on a computer (desktop).

Change the unit you count stock in (inventory UOM)

  1. Click Inventory in the side menu.

  2. Select the outlet, then the SKU tab.

  3. Find the item, click Action and choose Edit settings.

  4. Open the Settings tab and choose the Inventory UOM. Enter the conversion if asked, for example 1 carton = 24 pieces.

  5. Click Save.

What you should see: the new unit when you do a stock take. It applies to every inventory list the item is in at that outlet.

The item was created with the wrong order unit

The order unit can't be edited once the item is created. Create the item again with the right unit, then remove the old one:

  1. Log in to Nomni Procure on a computer.

  2. Check the right outlet is selected at the top right.

  3. Go to your suppliers list, click the supplier's ⋯ menu and choose View market list.

  4. Click Add/create SKU.

  5. Enter the item details again and choose the right UOM, then the price.

  6. Save the new item.

  7. Tick the old item and click Delete.

What you should see: one item with the right unit in the market list.

If the supplier sells the item in more than one unit, you may only need to turn on Include in marketlist for the unit you want.

If something goes wrong

  • The unit you need isn't in the UOM list: contact us with the unit name.

  • The item is from a supplier on Nomni Supply: the supplier controls its units. Ask them to add the unit, or contact us.

  • Past orders show the old unit: that's expected. Only new orders use the new item.
