Fix a stock count mistake

Correct a wrong quantity from a past stock count, and add a new item so it appears in the COGS report

Applies to: Nomni Procure Inventory.

Correct the last count of an item

  1. Go to Inventory and open the list with the item.

  2. Click the arrow next to the item.

  3. Select Amend ‘last count’ quantity.

  4. Enter the correct quantity and save.

What you should see: the item's last count updated with the correct quantity.

Important: the amendment is always recorded against the item's most recent stock count. If the item has been counted again since the mistake, the amendment changes the newer count, not the old one. Fix mistakes before the next count starts.

If the item has already been counted again

  1. Don't amend the count.

  2. Record an inventory adjustment instead (for example Found to add stock back, or a wastage to remove it) for the difference.

Deleting the wrong record in the activity log doesn't undo it. Use an adjustment. See Recording or deleting inventory adjustments.

Add a new item mid-period so it shows in COGS

COGS only shows items that have an opening stock count. For an item you started using mid-period:

  1. Add the item to an inventory list.

  2. Create a stock count dated on your last count date, with a quantity of 0.

  3. Receive the item as usual.

  4. Do your next stock count at the end of the period.

What you should see: the item in the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Report for the next period.

If something goes wrong

Stock moved between outlets is counted twice or not at all: if you picked the receiving outlet when you did the Transfer Out, don't record a Transfer In there. If you didn't pick an outlet, record a Transfer In at the receiving outlet.

The inventory unit or cost is wrong: open the item > settings and check the inventory UOM and conversion. See Reviewing UOM conversion rates in Inventory.
